Valentina Pellizzer is the coordinator of OneWorld branch office in Bosnia & Herzegovina. The focus of her organization is on a civil society portal for South Eastern Europe. Valentina believes in the inclusive nature of ICTs, that if women are online, they can almost instantly participate in activist work or civil society.
Her first contact with a computer began at age 24 at work in a printing house and a local newspaper. It was love at first sight, and a relationship was born. Since then she has combined the power of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs), feminism, and social movements, into a holistic vision. For this reason she finds WiTT particularly interesting as being a key agent for creative social change. She explains that WiTT is strategically important because it is a local initiative, done for and by women in the region. Valentina believes ICTs offer a space, a kind of stepping stone that can overcome obstacles of how to become involved with women’s activism. |
